BLENDING CREATIVITY
WITH CORPORATE LIFE
- 01 October 2025
At L&T we don’t just build the future, we also work towards building camaraderie and workplace bonds that go beyond work. Here’s the story of Boondh - an example of how these bonds can take musical shape - in the words of its founder.
My name is Ankan Ghosh, the proud founder of Boondh — the official band of L&T – Water & Effluent Treatment.
The story of Boondh began in 2022, not with a grand plan, but with something much simpler: a shared love for music. At the time, I was deeply immersed in my work as a structural engineer, but music had always been my parallel passion. One day, two colleagues and I sat together, jamming casually. What struck us wasn’t just how much fun it was, but how music immediately broke barriers — suddenly we weren’t just co-workers, but friends creating something together. That jam sparked a thought: what if we could build a space for music inside L&T itself, something that brings joy, energy, and connection to our workplace?
And that’s how Boondh was born — not just as a band, but as a dream to blend creativity with corporate life.

Of course, no dream comes without challenges. We faced moments of doubt: whether people would accept a band in a corporate setup, whether we’d find time amidst projects, and whether the group would even survive. Like many bands, we went through breaking and reforming. But every setback made the purpose clearer — music connects, heals, and inspires, and we were determined to keep that alive.
For me personally, leading Boondh while also leading my Structural Engineering Team has been a unique journey. By day, I work on complex engineering problems; by evening, I step into rehearsals. Balancing both worlds wasn’t easy, but it taught me one profound truth: whether it’s music or engineering, success comes down to the same principles — teamwork, resilience, and the joy of creating something meaningful together.
Our Journey, Step by Step
From a small idea, Boondh slowly began finding its rhythm within the organization: from performing at festive celebrations on campus to larger company-wide events.
Each performance was a milestone that strengthened our belief in what we were building together. In 2025, our journey reached a new high. With 1500 entries and 41 finalists, the competition at the first-ever L&T Ignite was nothing short of incredible.

And when Boondh was announced as the Winner in the Music Band category, it wasn’t just a trophy for us — it was a celebration of every practice session, every late-night jam, every challenge we overcame, and the belief that a small idea could grow into something extraordinary.

Today, when I look at Boondh, I don’t just see a band. I see proof that passion, persistence, and people can transform the simplest of ideas into something extraordinary.
